Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate (AES) is a pale yellow to colorless viscous liquid or paste at room temperature, readily soluble in water. As a typical anionic surfactant, it possesses stable chemical properties, excellent detergency, foaming, and emulsifying capabilities, along with good tolerance to hard water; however, it may hydrolyze under strongly acidic conditions. Based on its highly effective and cost-efficient characteristics, it is one of the most important and widely used primary surfactants in personal cleansing products, extensively employed as the main active ingredient in shampoos, body washes, facial cleansers, hand soaps, and household liquid detergents.
