Adipic Acid Dihydrazide (ADH) is a white crystalline or powdered solid at room temperature, readily soluble in water. As a functional compound containing two terminal hydrazide groups, its chemical properties are characterized by strong hydrophilicity, and the hydrazide groups (-CONHNH₂) on each molecule can undergo an efficient and rapid ketone-hydrazide cross-linking reaction with ketone carbonyl groups (-CO-), forming stable hydrazone bonds. Based on this core characteristic, its primary application is as an efficient cross-linking agent and curing agent in water-based systems. It is specifically designed for use with polymers containing ketone carbonyl groups (such as emulsions incorporating diacetone acrylamide). ADH is widely employed in the preparation of high-performance water-based coatings (particularly self-crosslinking industrial paints and wood coatings), adhesives, inks, and textile coatings, significantly enhancing product properties such as water resistance, solvent resistance, adhesion, and mechanical strength.
