Light Calcium Carbonate is a white, extremely fine powder at room temperature, odorless, insoluble in water and alcohols, and slightly soluble in aqueous solutions containing ammonium salts or carbon dioxide. As an inorganic carbonate, it is chemically stable but reacts with strong acids to release carbon dioxide and decomposes when heated to approximately 825°C. Based on its fine particle size, high whiteness, good dispersibility, and low cost, its primary applications are as a high-performance functional filler and reinforcing agent. It is widely used in industries such as plastics (e.g., PVC pipes and profiles), rubber, coatings, papermaking, sealants, inks, and daily chemical products (e.g., toothpaste) to improve the physical and mechanical properties, dimensional stability, and surface gloss of products.
