Iron Oxide Red is a dark red or reddish-brown powder at room temperature. It is an inorganic compound with stable chemical properties, insoluble in water but soluble in concentrated acids. At high temperatures, it can be reduced to magnetite (Fe₃O₄) and can also react with acids to form corresponding iron salts. Based on its excellent tinting strength, hiding power, lightfastness, weather resistance, and chemical stability, its primary application is as the most important and widely used inorganic red pigment. It is extensively employed in coatings (such as anti-rust paints), inks, plastics, rubber, construction materials (e.g., colored floor tiles, artificial marble), ceramics, as well as in polishing agents and catalyst supports, among other fields.
