Fluorescent Pigments (FP) are a category of pigments capable of absorbing specific wavelengths (e.g., ultraviolet light) and re-emitting visible light of longer wavelengths with high brightness. They typically exist as powders or granules and are insoluble in water and organic solvents. Chemically, they are primarily composed of specific organic compounds capable of fluorescence or inorganic compounds doped with rare-earth ions. While generally chemically stable, their lightfastness and heat resistance may be inferior to those of conventional pigments. Based on their exceptionally vivid colors, high brightness, and self-luminescent properties in low-light conditions, their primary applications include manufacturing products that require strong visual appeal or safety warnings, such as safety signs, road markings, toys, plastic products, advertising paints, inks, and high-end consumer goods. They are also widely used in textile printing and anti-counterfeiting printing.
